Historique :	Le devant d’autel de l’église de Merville-au-Bois était orné de trois panneaux peints sur bois représentant le Christ aux limbes, le Christ en croix et la Flagellation. Le Christ aux limbes a malheureusement disparu au cours du 20e siècle. Les deux panneaux conservés, mis en dépôt au trésor de la cathédrale d'Amiens, présentent une unité stylistique et chromatique. L’ensemble n’était probablement pas destiné à être un devant d’autel à l’origine mais plutôt un retable.
